Happy New Year!

Happy New year (ish)! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to update you in a Just Jennie Fall 2020 blog post, but I’ll fill you in quickly. I have three small kids and lettering takes a back seat. That’s the super short version….but it’s a new year, I’m working it into my schedule and here we are! I hope you are looking forward (and not back) as I am. I hope you are excited about all the opportunities a fresh start brings. Everyone likes new things every once in a while … and a new year is no different! January has a sense of wonder and I find myself with a little more pep in my step. Do you?

Personal Goals:

Writing down goals has always been helpful for me. Some of my personal goals this year are: drink more water, spend less, take a family vacation, workout consistently, memorize scripture- (more on this later), and keep a prayer journal!

First, drinking more water has always been a goal of mine. I am trying to keep it up this year. The benefits of drinking water are endless! It boosts your metabolism, washes out toxins, helps you burn calories, hydrates your skin, stabilizes blood pressure, reduces headaches, and so much more! Secondly, I want to spend less on random things I just don’t need. I plan to be super watchful over my spending this year. Thirdly, our last vacation was canceled due to the global pandemic. We are planning to travel and get away as a family. We’ve missed making memories outside of the home, so we are hopeful to be able to soon. Fourth, my workout goal this year is to build strength. I’ve never focused on this before so I am trying something new! Fifth, I signed up with a friend for a memorize scripture challenge. We are doing it together to help stay accountable and encourage one another. I’ll share more later! And lastly, we have gone through a lot as a family these past few months. I am praying more intentionally and specifically than ever before. I’m excited to keep a prayer journal as watch God work this year! Yes, Lord!

Jennie’s Letters Goals:

Creating goals for my little business is a must. If I don’t have a plan of action, I know I will fail. I try to make my goals lofty yet attainable. I am a big believer in setting yourself up for success! My goals are as follows: Update my entire Etsy Shop, complete online classes, use pen and paper more, launch new products, write lifestyle posts, and do more lettering just for fun.

First, I am currently updating my entire Etsy Shop. I am paying closer attention to my sales and focusing on what you all want. In the past I was only creating things I thought were good but duh… it’s not about me! Secondly, I have so many online lettering and small business classes to complete. I started a bunch but my goal is to go through them one by one and finish them! Third, I want to get back to using pen and paper more. Recently the iPad has taken over. I love the apps Procreate and Affinity Designer and while these are amazing tools there is nothing like the real thing! Fourth, I plan on launching new products this fall. I did one launch in the past and I want to try again. I learned a ton and I want to give it another go! Be on the lookout this August/September. Also, if you’d like something specific leave me a comment below! Fifth, lifestyle posts are not my strength so my goal is to improve this and share more! Lastly, lettering brings me such joy and I am going to do it more just for fun this year. My oldest daughter is learning to write so I want to spend time working with her and doing lettering just as a fun activity. This might not sound like a business goal but deep down spending time being creative breeds more creativity. Who knows where this will lead me!
